What Is A Life Coach?
A life coach is someone who helps you achieve greater results in your life. They should be able to help you reach higher levels of personal, financial, emotional and professional success. You really need a coach if you want to improve any areas of your life. If you desire more success, better relationships, better health, more income, and more love in your life then it would be unthinkable to not invest with this kind of mentor.
Over a year ago at the age of 25 I hired a life coach, specifically I wanted more clarity and direction for my life. However I was amazed with the results; in hind sight coaching did the opposite for me to gain more clarity and direction…I had to take a few steps back in life, clean up some important issues and NOW I have very focused direction and clarity.
Each person enters coaching with different expectations because we all have different challenges. If overcoming our challenges is our main objective, what then really is a challenge? A challenge is something in our lives, materialist or emotional, that we fear. What is fear? Fear is a signal our minds create to proceed with caution so we don’t die. Fear was designed to keep our physical bodies alive. In our first few million years of existence humans had to only worry about being killed by fierce animals, other humans or natural disasters. In the last 150-200 years wars and emotional fears began to emerge with the growing population. And In the last 30-40 years our populations is happily guarded by our wonderful government and we have few worries about being killed each day. Fear still exists. Fear still unfortunately controls many lives of humans and fear is the ultimate root of why we don’t succeed.
Humans have developed to much resistance in FAILURE. Imagine if you were fearless of failure, imagine if you saw failure as an opportunity to learn and grow? Imagine if you saw failure as an advantage over your competition? Imagine how a life coach can help you achieve new found levels of success.
Overcoming fear, failure and adversity is what they should be able to help you accomplish. The second important area a coach should be able to help you is increasing your performance in any particular area of your life. Once you have broken through a challenge or fear then you need to get emotionally CHARGED up to perform at a much higher level in that specific area!
I recommend to ask them how they will help you breakthrough your challenges, what tools do they use to do so and once your through the challenge how can they help you stay on track and perform better?
There are also options to join group coaching where a group of 6-12 students are coached via a teleconference by one instructor. This is an option if one-on-one coaching is out of your budget range. Do you really need a life coach? If you want more success…Absolutely.
